Great place to stop and spend a few hours. The view is amazing, there are plenty of hiking trails and then there is the cafe. I'm not sure how or why people give it low ratings. The food is cheap, and the atmosphere is great. You are not coming here for a Michelin star dinner here.
Great for lunch and access to a wonderful view! My daughter and I enjoyed a tasty lunch in the rustic Cafe along with a lofty view from atop the Palisades on this chilly January afternoon. Prices are quite reasonable and the food was hot and freshly prepared.
I discovered this place accidentally, and I am so glad I did. Great staff and the food was great too. Best views in the Hudson Valley for sure.
Was in the area to hike over and saw this little cafe was open. Stopped in with the girlfriend for breakfast/ lunch and we were delightfully surprised how pleasant the service and food was. We ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a bacon cheeseburger on a roll. Got a gatorade as well and bill came out to 17 which was actually pretty good. The fried egg was yummy and a little runny in a good way. The bacon on both sandwiches was perfectly done and not too charred or chewy. Have the mention the view is worth the drive. The staff was friendly and that’s always the icing on the cake. 100% will be visiting again.
Great views and reasonably priced food too.
I really like this place as a rest stop along the Palisades parkway. There's no gas just food and restrooms and great views and even a hiking trail. And who cannot love a rest area that has a working fireplace?
I always try to stop in here when cycling up 9W - I like the old log cabin vibe. Visitors should be aware that, unlike for other restaurants, the posted closing times are when everyone, visitors and staff alike, need to leave the building - kitchen closes 45 mins, and bathrooms 15 mins prior to allow for cleaning.
Such an awesome staff. Great burgers and nice stone building to warm up in along the Hudson. There are bathrooms and even a fireplace. I have been coming here since I was a kid. They used to have hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick. I miss that
